Why We Built This Site
Alabama gives the public broad access to many public writings and court records, while still protecting sealed, expunged, juvenile, adoption, mental-health, and otherwise confidential records. The hard part in Cherokee County is figuring out which office holds the file you want. Dwayne Amos, the Cherokee County Circuit Clerk, handles Circuit and District Court records from Suite 102 of the Cherokee County Courthouse in Centre. Probate Judge Tim Burgess and the Probate Office handle probate, marriage certificates, estates, and recording from Suite 103. The Sheriff's Office and Detention Center at 110 Cedar Bluff Road handle law-enforcement and jail channels. We pull together the contact details, search portals, fee schedules, and request steps for those offices into one place.
